TOP HEADLINES –04.02.2015

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the short-term indicative policy rate (repo rate) unchanged at 7.75 percent at its sixth bi-monthly monetary policy review. RBI slashed Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) by 50 basis points to 21.5 percent.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने छठी मौद्रिक नीति समीक्षा जारी कर दी और नीतिगत ब्या ज दरों में कोई बदलाव नहीं किया है। आरबीआई ने अल्पकालिक ऋण दर या रेपो दर को 7.75 प्रतिशत पर अपरिवर्तित रखा है। आरबीआई ने सांविधिक तरलता अनुपात (एसएसआर) को 50 आधार अंकों से घटा कर 21.5 प्रतिशत कर दिया।

2. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang jointly launched the Visit India Year in China at a function in Beijing. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the flow of tourists from China to India and strengthen the people to people bond. It is agreed to designate 2015 as Visit India Year in China and 2016 as Visit China Year in India.

विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वiराज और चीन के उप प्रधानमंत्री वांग यांग ने संयुक्तन रूप से बीजिंग में एक समारोह में भारत यात्रा वर्ष की शुरूआत की। इसका उद्देश्यप चीन से भारत आने वाले पर्यटकों की संख्यार बढ़ाना और दोनों देशों के लोगों के बीच रिश्ते मजबूत करना है। वर्ष 2015 को चीन में भारत यात्रा वर्ष के रूप में और 2016 को भारत में चीन यात्रा वर्ष के रूप में मनाया जाएगा।

3. Union Govt. has decided to rename the second phase of JNNURM, the scheme to rejuvenate India’s 500 cities and towns. Now it has been renamed as Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

केन्द्र सरकार ने जवाहरलाल नेहरू राष्ट्रीय शहरी नवीनीकरण मिशन (जेएनएनयूआरएम) योजना के दूसरे चरण का नाम बदल कर अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के नाम पर करने की घोषणा की है। देश के 500 शहरों और कस्बों के पुनरोद्धार के लिए संचालित इस योजना के इस नए चरण को अब अटल नवीनीकरण एवं नगरीय रूपान्तरण मिशन (एएमआरयूटी) कहा जाएगा।

4. India’s first germplasm bank in the private sector started its operations. This bank capable of protecting the seeds up to 40 years has been set up at Medchal near Hyderabad. Gubba Group established this germplasm bank. Gubba Group has a network of 12 cold storage facilities. The bank has been established with an investment of Rs. 4 crore and it can withstand earthquakes, power outages and fire accidents.

भारत में निजी क्षेत्र के पहले जर्मप्लाज़्म बैंक ने अपना संचालन शुरू कर दिया। हैदराबाद के पास मेडचल में स्थापित इस बैंक में वनस्पति बीजों को 40 साल तक संरक्षित रखा जा सकेगा। इस बैंक की स्थापना गुब्बा समूह ने की है। गुब्बा समूह वर्तमान में 12 कोल्ड स्टोरेज का संचालन कर रहा है। 4 करोड़ रुपए के निवेश से स्थापित इस बैंक की एक और विशेषता यह है कि यह भूकंप, बिजली कटौती तथा आज जैसी आपदाओं/समस्याओं को झेल सकने में सक्षम है।

5. Hindi novelist Mithileshwar was awarded with Shrilal Shukla Sahitya IFFCO Award 2014. He is the 4th recipient of this literary award. Some of his famous novels are: Prem na Badi Oopjai, Surang me Subah, Yah Ant Nahin, Jhunia (1980), Yuddh Sthal (1981).

मशहूर उपन्यासकार मिथिलेश्वर को साल 2014 का 'श्रीलाल शुक्ल साहित्य इफको सम्मान' दिया गया है। मिथिलेश्वर यह सम्मान पाने वाले चौथे साहित्यकार हैं। इनके कुछ प्रसिद्ध उपन्यास 'प्रेम न बाड़ी उपजै', 'यह अंत नहीं', 'सुरंग में सुबह', झुनिया (1980), युद्ध स्थल (1981) हैं।

6. Italy's parliament has elected constitutional court judge Sergio Mattarella as the country's president. Mr. Mattarella, 73, succeeded Giorgio Napolitano, 89, who stood down earlier this month citing "signs of fatigue".

इटली की संसद ने संवैधानिक अदालत के न्यायाधीश सेर्गियो मैट्टारेला को इटली के नए राष्ट्रपति के रूप में निर्वाचित किया। मैट्टारेला (73) ने बहुत ही लोकप्रिय जोर्जियो नेपोलितानो का स्थान लिया है जो अपनी अधिक उम्र के चलते पद से हट गए हैं।

7. Pakistan conducted a successful flight test of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) ‘Ra’ad’. With a range of 350 kilometres, the Ra’ad missile enables Pakistan to achieve strategic standoff capability both on land and at sea. The state of the art Ra’ad cruise missile was built with “Cruise Technology” which has been developed by only a few countries in the world and gives the missile stealth capabilities.

पाकिस्तान ने 350 किलोमीटर तक परमाणु एवं पारंपरिक हथियार ले जाने में सक्षम स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित एक नए क्रूज मिसाइल ‘राड’ का परीक्षण किया जिसकी जद में कई भारतीय शहर हैं। राड मिसाइल से पाकिस्तान को सतह एवं समुद्र में ‘सामरिक गतिरोध क्षमता’ हासिल करने में मदद मिलेगी क्योंकि यह बेहद जटिल ‘क्रूज टेक्नोलोजी’ का इस्तेमाल करता है। इस तकनीक का विकास दुनिया के कुछ ही देश कर पाए हैं।

8. Madhya Pradesh has been awarded the 10th national award for excellent work in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). Union Rural Development Minister Virendra Singh presented the award to state’s Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava at the MGNREGA summit held on the occasion of MNREGA Divas (observed on 2 February) in New Delhi.

महात्मागांधी राष्ट्रीय रोजगार गांरटी योजना में बेहतर कामकाज के लिए मध्य प्रदेश को 10वें राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार से पुरस्कृत किया गया है। मनरेगा दिवस (2फरवरी के मनाया जाता है) के अवसर पर नई दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में आयोजित मनरेगा सम्मेलन में केंद्रीय पंचायत एवं ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री वीरेंद्र सिंह चौधरी ने यह पुरस्कार प्रदेश के पंचायत एवं ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री गोपाल भार्गव को प्रदान किया।

9. Photo journalist Krishna Murari Kishan, who had won praise for communal riots coverage in Jamshedpur in 1978 and in Bhagalpur in 1989, died at a private hospital after suffering multiorgan failure. He was 62.

1989 में भागलपुर में और 1978 में जमशेदपुर में सांप्रदायिक दंगों के कवरेज के लिए प्रशंसित फोटो पत्रकार कृष्ण मुरारी किशन का बहुअंग विफलता के कारण एक निजी अस्पताल में निधन हो गया। वह 62 वर्ष के थे।

10. Dr. Nandita Chatterjee took over as the new Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA). Her last assignment was as Member-Secretary, National Commission for Women.

डॉ. नंदिता चटर्जी ने आवास और शहरी गरीबी उपशमन (एचयूपीए) मंत्रालय में नये सचिव के रूप में पदभार संभाला। इससे पहले डॉ. चटर्जी राष्ट्री य महिला आयोग की सदस्यि-सचिव के रूप में कार्यरत थीं।
